Gabrielle Davis is an upcoming artist/architect born in Detroit, Michigan. In 2009, she moved from Michigan to Clinton, Mississippi where she began her creative endeavors. By 2015, Gabrielle started attending Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven, MS (a residential fine arts high school) focusing on visual arts. She gained experience in curation, critiques, painting (watercolor, acrylic, and oil), drawing (charcoal, graphite, color pencils, ink, etc.), and color theory. Before graduating in 2017, Gabrielle participated in over 5 student exhibits, had artworks displayed at the Mississippi Museum of Art and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, and was honored with 3 gold keys, 1 silver key, and 1 honorable mention at the Scholastics Art Regional Competition.
Continuing her education, Gabrielle obtained her Associates of Arts at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. While attending, she furthered her skills in painting and drawing as well as developing new ones, such as ceramics and digital arts. She was involved in the 2018 and 2019 Hinds Student Exhibition where she won best of show for her drawings (both years) and first place in the drawing (2018) and ceramics (2019) categories. Gabrielle also won first place in ceramics at the Mississippi Community College State Show.
After her journey in Mississippi, Gabrielle made her decision to join the architecture program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with a focus in architecture. Combining her love for maths, arts, and sculpting, she molded her degree to balance visual arts and architecture courses. Her drawing skills came in handy to make her switch over to technical drawings and planning as well as working with digital programs to illustrate. Upon reaching graduation in 2023, Gabrielle became a part of the National Organization of Minority Architects and relocated to Georgia, U.S.
